Overview
Ark, a fast-growing fintech company that offers a cutting-edge investor reporting portal to fund administrators and emerging fund managers, is seeking a business development analyst to join its talented team. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 2 years of sales experience in the financial services industry and work from Ark’s Boston office, which is where the sales team is based.
Ark serves 375+ customers representing over 3,000 private equity, venture capital, real estate and other private investment funds with over $75B of capital commitments. Our investor reporting portal offers dynamic and detailed capital account reporting and is differentiated because of its scalability and ease of configuration.
Primary Role and Responsibilities
- Generate new business opportunities through strategic outbound prospecting (“cold calls/outreach”) to meet or exceed sales quotas and achieve revenue goals.
- Follow-up with prospects who express an interest in learning more about Ark via its website, LinkedIn or referral from another customer or third-party.
- Work with Ark’s sales leadership team to deliver high-quality, technical demonstrations of Ark’s investor portal product to new prospective customers.
- Recognize potential customer objections and readily adapt sales demos, approaches and pitches to address relevant issues and pain points.
- Track, manage and own a pipeline of prospective customer accounts from lead generation through to close.
- Use market research and industry data to understand the competitive landscape, total addressable market and key differentiators of Ark’s software platform.
- Continuously assess the enhancement and expansion of Ark’s software platform to deliver a well thought out roadmap, improve the user experience and push into new markets and geographies.
Qualifications
- 1 to 2 years of sales experience
- Experience dealing with customers in person or in remote settings (e.g., over the phone) and the ability to adapt quickly and accurately to situations as they evolve
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen, solicit feedback, problem solve and navigate complex conversations
- Work well in a collaborative, team environment and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple, competing tasks
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Desire to learn more about finance and financial technology products and solutions
- Comfort working in a start-up environment with a strong work ethic and the drive to self-motivate and achieve both individual and firmwide goals
- Experience with a comprehensive and interactive CRM system, such as SalesForce or HubSpot, to build, track and maintain a pipeline of leads
